Hi,
XEN 4.7 (last version of Hypervisor Xen) is supporting following cache features:
- CAT Cache Allocation Technology
- CDP Code and Data Prioritization
Those features are supported by x86 L3 caches. This technology seems to improve performances allowing to limit some VM cache usage for example.
It seems to me that ARM is not having same kind of feature. And even more, ARM is going in the opposite direction not supporting anymore cache lines/ways locking.
Is there a plan for ARM to have such feature ?
if not is there any reason ?
Regards,
Seb
One reason could be, that ARMs data cache is physically tagged instead of virtually as on x64?
