i have 1 more query related to GIC. in Cortex-A53 it is mentioned that it is using GIC 400 and GIC architecture Version 4, but in ARM site i am not seeing any GIC V4 Doc, there is only GIc v2
Hello anoopstm,
I cannot catch your intention.
Was your concerning about Cortex-A9?
Why do you mention Cortex-A53 now?
Regarding GICv3, it is currently disclosed only to cuntracted costomers.
Regarding GICv4, I don't know about it.
Best regards,
Yasuhiko Koumoto.
Hello!
From the initial question, I understand you might be working for a silicon vendor. I have branched your new question in a new discussion to avoid confusion and ease search in the future.
Not all our documentation is available publicly. For instance, the excellent ARM Cortex-A Programmer's Guide unfortunately requires a login on the ARM support site to protect ARM and our customers...
If you are a customer, I invite you to register to that ARM support site with your employer's email address (it helps making sure you are entitled to access it) and create a support case to be directed to the documentation.
Please note that today community member accounts are not synchronised with login.arm.com or silver.arm.com. We are looking at changing this in the future in a way which will not be a problem for community members.
Hello anoopstm
The GIC-500 (based on the GICv3 Architecture Specifications - disclosed only to contracted costumers, as mentioned by yasuhikokoumoto ) is designed to work directly with the Cortex-A53.
The GIC-400 (based on the GICv2 Architecture Specifications) could be also used with the Cortex-A53 in some configurations.
If you need any further information on the different ARM GIC IPs you could consult this page on the ARM web corporate web site CoreLink Interrupt Controllers - ARM.
Moreover, as Alban Rampon mentioned, if you are a ARM customer or partner do not hesitate to create a support case to receive further detail and clarifications.
HTH,
Carmelo
Thanks Alban
Yes i am working for a silicon Vendor.
sorry for branching new question in the previous communication. i will take care of it in future.
I already registered with ARM support site and can download docs from there. but there is no GICv4 TRM.
