Are any companies planning to release a Cortex-M7 IC with lock-step?

Hi guys,

I'm eager to use the M7 in ASILD and SIL3 applications as it offers our developers a more familiar environment and behaviour compared to the R series, amongst a few other preferential attributes. However I'm yet to see any signs of a company integrating this option into an SoC.

Does anyone know of any companies that are planning to release an IC based on the M7 running in lock-step?

Many thanks

  • Thank you guys.

My interest stems from our firm having not used Cortex-R previously and we would prefer to stick with a simpler architecture and systems we know well such as the NVIC of a Cortex-M etc. For us this seems like a more natural progression, as there are elements of the Cortex-R that seem less fit-for-purpose.

    Many thanks
