Cortex-M3 or -M4: Which is better?

Hi,

I need some clarification about which one is better either Cortex-M3 or -M4. Which one is present trending and which one having good future.

    I don't think you can really ask the question "which is better" without some context of what you want it for. The Cortex-M3 and Cortex-M4 are essentially identical with the only major difference being that the Cortex-M4 includes a set of DSP instructions which significantly enhance its processing power for a large class of algorithms.

    Both have a great future - in their respective fields!

    Fully agree with Chris's answer, thank you Chris.

    And for my opinion, in embedded system , especially for the chosing of MCU , only suitable suitable product is important(Price, package, shipment time, referenc information , etc. will impact the final decision of the MCU chosing).

    Some old type 4 bit MCU still under design and manufacture in the application like remote controller or small home appliance.

    Cortex-M3 and Cortex-M4 both have good future, you only need to choose the most suitable one for you.
