Maria Markstedter

Maria Markstedter - Keynote speaker at the Arm Research Summit 2020.

Founder of Azeria Labs and an Arm Innovator, Maria Markstedter is an expert in device security. Maria offers training courses, partners with industry-leading technology companies, and educates the next generation of security experts. Previously featured in Forbes, Vogue Business, and The Register, Maria encourages researchers to scrutinize device security. Maria is interested in processors and OS security, defensive mitigation against binary exploits, and reverse-engineering.

Maria says, “There has never been a better time to learn and invest in cybersecurity for Arm devices. Security is increasingly important for more demanding use cases across mobile, IoT, automotive and more. Learning about the ever evolving techniques hackers use to break into Arm-based devices and the mitigations software developers can implement to defend against them, has never been more important to keeping our data, critical infrastructure, and increasingly connected lives secure.”

Maria has been working alongside Arm to provide developers with in-depth knowledge of how to ensure the code they write is as secure as possible. In this Blueprint blog, Maria explores the key role of Arm exploit mitigations as countermeasures against software vulnerabilities such as memory corruption.
