2 minute read time.

We had the incredible opportunity to host our first Arm Developer Program Workshop of the year in collaboration with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Arm(E³)NGAGE Club.

This hands-on event marked an exciting beginning to our 2025 developer outreach efforts, setting the tone for what promises to be a year full of innovation, learning, and community building.

Introducing the Arm Developer Program at KNUST

The workshop began with an introduction by Derrick Edem Sosoo, who set the tone for the session by introducing participants to the Arm Developer Program. He highlighted the program’s mission to empower developers, students, and professionals with access to world-class tools, learning resources, and a vibrant community.

Derrick encouraged attendees to sign up and take advantage of the amazing benefits that come with being part of the program—such as early access to new tools, curated learning paths, and technical support.

Hands-on IoT projects with the MXChip IoT DevKit

The main theme of the session was an introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) using the powerful and versatile MXChip IoT DevKit—a development board built on the STM32F412 Arm Cortex-M4F processor.

The board features integrated Wi-Fi, an OLED display, various sensors (temperature, humidity, motion, pressure), a microphone, and a secure cryptographic chip, making it an ideal platform for prototyping IoT applications.

IoT with the MXChipe IoT Devkit talk

Led by Samuel Adranyi, the hands-on session walked participants through the process of setting up the board, connecting it to the cloud, and implementing real-world IoT use cases. Samuel’s guidance helped participants not only understand the tech but also envision how they could use it to solve local and global challenges.

Exploring TinyML and Learning Paths at Arm

Dominica Abena Oforiwaa Amanfo joined the session virtually and delivered a session on Arm’s Learning Paths.

Dominica spotlights the newly launched Introduction to TinyML with PyTorch & ExecuTorch, a course she authored to help developers deploy ML on constrained devices.

She provides valuable insights into how developers can chart their own journey into TinyML and embedded AI using Arm's free, structured learning content.
