[re-printed from PSoC Creator News and Information]
The much-anticipated 4.1 release of PSoC Creator is now available from the "Downloads" tab on the product web page and via the Cypress Update Manager.
This release adds support for the new PSoC 4000DS and PSoC 4200DS devices, which are our latest 48MHz ARM Cortex-M0 devices with up to 64kB flash and 8kB SRAM plus a broad range of programmable digital peripherals.
There are some really interesting new features in the release. The big change is web content delivery, which means you can download new components and code examples directly from PSoC Creator. You will even be able to get support for new part numbers as soon as they are ready, without having to wait for, and install, a new release of the software.
One of the most often-requested features is to support pre- and post-build commands. We added that in 4.1 and you can set it up in the Project->Build Settings dialog.
There are a number of quality improvements in the release, with updates to the CapSense and Power Monitor components, a new version of the GNU ARM Embedded compiler (2016 Q2 Update release), and enhancements to the component parameter editor that really improve usability.
Lastly, we cleaned up the Start Page interface. In our eagerness to tell you all about PSoC we had filled up the Start Page with too many web links. You guys know how to browse our web site for what you need and so we now present a much simpler, more usable page. The content is grouped under the headings Learn, Start, and Recent so it is easy to find what you want.
Please install PSoC Creator right now and start enjoying the new features and improved product quality today.
p.s. As communicated previously, support for Windows XP and Windows Vista has been discontinued in PSoC Creator 4.1. Microsoft has discontinued support for these Windows platforms and is not maintaining compatibility with them in the .NET framework.
