New online training course - An introduction to CryptoCell

2 minute read time.

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new video-based online training module that provides an introduction to the cryptography and security for Arm's CryptoCell family of security products - An introduction to CryptoCell.

CryptoCell is Arm's family of embedded security solutions. The services that CryptoCell provides are needed across a variety of Internet of Things (IoT) domains such as home automation, factory automation, smart energy, industrial IoT, and other areas where there is potential usage of Arm’s Cortex-A and Cortex-M processors.

Security for the connected world

This training provides a high-level introduction to CryptoCell and the concepts of security and trust that it is built on. We begin by introducing some of the fundamental principles of cryptography, providing animated examples of different encryption methods that demonstrate how trust is formed between parties and how assets are protected. These principles underpin digital security within all manner of contexts, and are used in many areas from verifying files shared online, protecting websites from attack, digital banking applications, and even in protecting cryptocurrency wallets.

Watch a short preview of the course here:

The training explains how security and cryptography is applied in CryptoCell hardware solutions, as well as how CryptoCell complements the TrustZone security extension for Armv8 and together they form a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) that isolates secure operations from non-trusted code. An overview of CryptoCell hardware is provided for IP licencees, as well as information on software tools designed for protecting assets during chip manufacturing and production.

Take control of your learning

The module provides a mixture of bite-sized articles and videos that you can access in any order you like. And as with all our online training courses you can measure your learning by taking the test, which at the end provides links directly back to the content if you need a recap to improve your understanding.
