Upcoming changes - a detailed look at the new Arm Developer and Community websites

2 minute read time.

In my previous blog, I told you how we’re making some significant changes to the Arm Developer and Arm Community websites.

These changes will allow you to easily access all the information you need, wherever you are on your journey.

Integration

We’ve brought the two platforms closer together, enabling you to read relevant content and know what your peers are discussing in the same place, helping you more quickly and easily develop on Arm.

Navigation

We have reorganized the structure and content, by thinking about the following questions:

  • What do you want to do? – are you designing a SoC, working with hardware, or developing software?
  • Which product you want to work on? - organized in ways that make sense to you, not that expose Arm’s internal structures.
  • Which key tasks do you want to perform? – for example, building your first embedded image, or understanding what performance you can expect from your system.
  • Which solutions are you interested in? - collected together using a combination of application, technology, or industry.

We’ve introduced a new global navigation system. Whether you’re interested in developing secure processors, want to explore Arm’s embedded software, get straight to the technical documentation, or download tools and drivers, you can do that with less clicks.

Community

We’ve changed the structure of the Community, to make it easier for you to connect with relevant information:

  • In the new 'Developer' community you can interact with peers and read blogs that can help you solve problems, learn about the latest Arm technology, and develop new skills while developing on Arm.
  • In the ‘Arm blog’ section you can keep up to date on news relating to Arm products, the wider ecosystem we work in, and the industries in which Arm is reshaping the world.

When is this going to happen?

Changes to the Arm Community have already gone live, and you’ll see all the other changes go live on the 1st April 2019.

I’ll be at Linaro Connect for the first in a series of post-launch events, where you can come and talk to us about how we arrived here, the part you played, and how you can get involved in helping us define the future shape of the Arm Developer platform.

And finally...

This is just the first release in a series of many.

We’ll be learning more about how you choose to use our content and will be making many other changes, both structural and cosmetic, to the site over the coming months to provide you a cohesive experience and we’ll be adding more and new types of content, connecting you with the content you need to lower the barriers to developing on Arm.

But remember, you can always click the yellow feedback button and get involved.
