[MANUAL]Compiling mali200 Driver

Hardware:

CPU: Telechips TCC8902 720Mhz
GPU: Mali200
How to compile driver?

Software:
HOST: Linux Ubunte 10.10 (2.6.35.22 generic)
TARGET: ARM Linux 2.6.29 Andoird 2.1

path to the linux kernel source:

/home/kmaks/kernel

the way to the driver:

/home/kmaks/mali

I try:

cd mali
make KDIR=/home/kmaks/kernel

Compilation no error occurs.

Further.

adb root
adb remount
adb push C:\mali.ko /system/lib/modules
adb reboot

After rebooting, black screen = (

Hi,

which version of the driver are you using? There may be an ARM part number such as r2p2 or similar.

Also, there are two components to the Mali driver, the kernel module and the user-space shared object libraries. Do you have access to both?

I believe both will need to be the same version to form a working platform.

I want to compile a new version of the driver, which is located at /system/lib/modules/ and is called mali.ko

Hi,

you can rebuild the mali.ko but you will also need matching userspace libraries. Do you have these? These would need to come from Telechips and will probably only be in binary form.

Have you got your newer version of the driver from the Mali portal?

https://developer.arm.com/products/software/mali-drivers

If so, I believe you need to request matching userspace library binaries from Telechips.
