I have downloaded and configured the Shader Studio but I ran into some trouble.
I'm trying to set up an OpenGL ES based emulator renderer following the instructions
found in this
document
.
in section "Select a renderer for Linux". So far:
1. The procedure above is not working. I always get a dialog from Eclipse telling me
"Unable to connect to renderer ...
- Is the correct one selected in the Shader Preview window?
- Is the address in the Renderer Preferences correct?
- Is the renderer running and waiting for connections? "
Everything is correct as per the user guide so I'm not sure why it's not working.
2. The document mentioned has some confusing parts in the "Select a renderer for Linux" section.
"e. Enter a local port address in the Connection Port field. This address will be passed
to the Shader Server when it starts."
Which Shader Server are we talking about? I thought (and confirmed by the README in the
Shader Server source distribution that comes with the Shader Studio Eclipse plugin) that the server
is supposed to run on a real ARM target
and the studio will connect to it for rendering services.
3. The emulation libraries are working as I was able to build and run successfully the cube
example for OpenGL ES 2.0.
Any help in getting the thing running appreciated.
My system:
Ubuntu 11.04 32 bit SMP, ATI Radeon HD 5670
The Eclipse IDE is ARM DS-5(licensed) Version 5.8 (build 1213)
Shader Studio v1.3 beta
OpenGL ES emulator v1.3/v1.3.1
Offline Shader Compiler v3.0
