Setting a project or source files to Read-Only

Is there a way to set individual or even all files in a project to read-only (within the IDE)?  For example in Notepad++, if one right-clicks on a tab (filename tab at the top) it's possible to set a file to read-only. I am porting a LOT of different projects and files and code and it would be helpful to do this from within the IDE.
