89c669 cpu availability

Does anyone know if the 89c669 CPU is readily available? I am having trouble locating parts thru distributors. According to them, it has not been classified as obsolete. It is a fairly new part, I think. Thanks.

  • Most companies these days have i..... eh, customer service people that sit as "first line responders". Those people have a list of pat answers and nothing more.

This is not just a Philips issue, it even happen here at Keil. I asked "watches work with locals in C but not with locals in assembler" and the answer was "to watch you must open a watch window".

I think Stefan is a bit unjust Those guys can't tell the difference between a toaster and an IC., my experience is that they can tell you that one is bigger than the other.

My recommendation is: when you start working with a companys products, get a question that the 'first liner" will realize that (s)he can not answer, that will give you a contact in the second line and then life is good. BE AWARE if you start abusing that contact it WILL die.
