Hello I'm looking for microcontroller supporting 7 external interrupt because I have to replace SAB80C535. All microcontroller with I've found have 2 external interrupt, unfortunately it's not enough for the device in which SAB80C535 is placed. Do you know what microcontroller (based on 8051) model is able to handle so many external interrupts?
Wouldn't this be an ideal time to explore a new architecture?
Yes, I agree with you, but this choice does not depend on me
I know of none; however quite a few (some SiLabs, NXP) have a port match interrupt, that, with a bit of code, can be used as 8 separate interrupts
Can you combine the external sources with a CPLD, or AND/OR gating arrangement?

Perhaps the person in charge of the choice should be more involved in solving the problem and selecting the means to do so. Or you need to do a better job of spelling out an alternative approach you can carry to completion.
i now look at the SAB80C517A. it is better SAB80C535.
