i wanna connect one 8051 micro controller with 3 devices (GSM, Zigbee, electronic energy meter). The communication between these four are through serial port so please guide me whether i can connect the three devices with one microcontroller or i have to use separate microcontroller for all three devices
My current favourite is the NXP LPC800 series.
Lots of on chip peripherals (up to 3 UARTS, which might be good for the OP), incredibly versatile pin allocation and cheap as those proverbial chips (something like 85p sterling one off here in the UK).
For me, the '51 is now close to being not even considered.
