Keil installs but will not execute and I get an "APPCRASH" error in the detail section. I am trying to install on a Windows x86 Win 7 Ultimate.
It seems the issue was not fixed on V5.x yet...
That or it's a dig at developers who have low resolution screens, and ridiculously huge fonts/icon settings.
The interesting thing is that Keil doesn't find it interesting to specify their graphics requirements on the page specifically intended to tell the hardware requirements to run uVision. Extra interesting when thinking about the large number of people who seems to get hit by this problem...
As more users tend to use laptops to do developping and ppi of LCD displays increases, the 100% size appears to be UNCOMFORTABLE for human eyes...
After hours of developping it's easy for eyes to be tired. Also the EHS(Environment, Health and Safety) Dept. will suggest to use 125% fonts/icons, which is a easy-found option in Windows 7.
Unfortunately Keil doesn't support this. B-(
Thanks for the feedback, had messed with resolution and icon sizes when using my 52" family room LCD for movie night with Netflix. Not to mention that my laptops screen is fried and I have to use a second external monitor also.
The human condition is extremely varied, I've got extremely good near vision, but I'd hazard what you really need is a better monitor. There's a lot of crap out there, perfect for the corporate droids, but what you really want is the gear targeted to medical and publishing types where clarity and sharpness is important. Good monitors aren't that expensive any more.
I haven't had this issue with my 11" NetBook with it's 1366x768 panel, if I'd paid 6-10x for the 1920x1080 panelled machine it would have been to have MORE stuff on the screen. Though why I'd need to pay $1K to get a panel like the one on my $149 Nook HD+ is frankly why UltraBooks totally lost the plot over the last few product cycles.
