Hi,
I just downloaded and installed the µVision5. Unfortunately I can't see any device in the database when I start a new Project. Therefor I can not build any project. But when I look at the database under File->Device Database there are all the devices listed.
Anybody with an idea?
thanks in advance, Markus
Thanks!
I just downloaded MDK-ARM v5.00 as well, and was curious as to why I only saw a handful of vendors listed in the device database (EnergyMicro, NXP, ST). I was sure Keil hadn't dropped support for the many HUNDREDS of Cortex devices from version 4. However, a quick search of documents, Google, and help files turned up nothing. Took a while to find this note.
Seems like there should be a more prominent notice about this, rather than having to search through forums to find this note stuck away in the corner.
For anyone new to Keil tools, it would look like Keils latest version 5.00 offering only supports 4 or 5 Cortex manufacturers! I'm sure that's not what you folks want people to think, right?
This is an end user forum.
So if you with "you folks" want to target Keil staff, you should consider using their support links.
Seems like the inquisitive nature is missing amongst a lot of people now.
I downloaded MDK-ARM 5. During the installation I selected the option to view the release notes and, voila, details about software packs are immediately apparent.
Maybe that's the aim?
Perhaps they want to be able to offer "limited" versions to chip manufacturers which feature only that manufacturer's devices...?
