Hi,
I just downloaded and installed the µVision5. Unfortunately I can't see any device in the database when I start a new Project. Therefor I can not build any project. But when I look at the database under File->Device Database there are all the devices listed.
Anybody with an idea?
thanks in advance, Markus
why engineers in keil and ARM don't integrate their development suit into a more advance IDE like Microsoft Studio?
Have you seen what a total cluster Atmel Studio 6 is on non-bleeding edge hardware? That uses VS and is frankly a painful experience.
I think there is a much larger market of people who don't like Eclipse or VS.
Why don't you just configure VS, or IDE of your choice, to use the Keil command line tools?
A good developer can master multiple tools.
Wouldn't it be bad if Keil required us to also buy the M$ developer studio?
And who should give support?
Same issue with support if using Eclipse.
why engineers in keil and ARM don't integrate their development suit into a more advance IDE like Microsoft Studio? hopefully they will not.
The fact you are used to something does not make it 'better'
What REALLY would help, would be if Keil realized that, while they are good at compilers, they are lousy at editors and bought (a licence to use) CodeWright (it should be fairly cheap) to include in the IDE.

Unfortunately not!
Although Embarcadero (who now own the rights) consider it "legacy" and "unmaintained" and "unsupported" they still feel it right to charge top-dollar for it!!
NOooooooooooooooooooooo!!
Have just spent the last week battling Atmel Studio (which is based on MSVS) I can say that would not be a step forward!
Although I don't particularly like Eclipse, I would certainly prefer it to MSVS!
And neither of them has anything to specifically address the "device database" issue...
correct, but there is such a thing as "volume discount"
I am, for instance, totally certain that SILabs do not pay $4k for every PK51 installed for free
