we are using LPC2468 controller in our ECR Machine. we are getting a problem in RTC timing, sometimes the day changes automatically Date,Hours,minutes also gets changed automatically. Till now we have checked the whole software and were not able to find any problem.Same Software is running in many other boards and is working fine not showing any problem of RTC timing
we have used 32.768KHz crystal along with 2 capacitors of 22pF each.
What are the possible reasons for this ??
According to our research we think that the whole lot of Controllers we bought is faulty??
Yes:
Bugs in your code;
Faults in your hardware;
Design flaws in your hardware.
Did you buy them from a reputably seller, or some dodgy guy in China?

It's not lacking a ring of truth. The problems with counterfeit parts, and tainted products is a myth? You should perhaps direct your wrath at those doing these things, not those holding up the mirror.
Lots of companies have had truckloads of silicon stolen, and then the stolen silicon gets put in capsules by a company that doesn't have the hw equipment or the knowledge to perform full function tests on the chips.
So lots of people have found themselves with components that have had very strange issues - when buying new chips through official channels, their issues have went away.
Lots of chips are sold on the spot market, but not all of them are legitimate.
The company I work for have had big issues with one of our products because we did have to buy up large amounts of an obsolete chip on the spot market - and some shipments where found to be bad.
