Have been working on CortexM3. Have migrated to LPC1788. The SDRAM ICs interfaced on the demo board are no more produced by the manufacturers (and hence available with the distributors).
List of ICs: H57V2562GTR - Hynix K4S561632E-TC/UC - Samsung MT48LC16M16A2 - Micron
But the samsung distributor has suggested me to interface DDR2 RAM Ics whose operating frequencies above 500MHz. Can i interface DDR2 ICs with LPC1788? Is it possible to interface high frequency ICs with a slower controller? (Logically, it should be!!)
Apologies that i am asking the question here. But i am sure that the amount of knowledge that people here posses, the queries will be answered.
Have read the construction, working and operation of SDRAM (synchronous DRAM) and all the ICs. and figured out that DDR2 and DDR3 are not backward compatible. infact, DDR2 and DDR3 operating voltage range is 0V - 1.5V.
