Just download and trying out evaluation version uVision4 for 8051, try to build a project from the examples directory for RTX51-TINY but get error stating should upgrade to PK51. Makes no sense to me --- surely all required is included in the eval s/ware ?
***FATAL ERROR L257: RTX51-TINY requires upgrade to PK51 Target not created
No doubt I am doing something wrong/omitting something -- Any help appreciated
Evaluation software contains certain limitations, one of them is using RTX51-Tiny.

"Makes no sense to me --- surely all required is included in the eval s/ware ?"
That is a very naive view!
Keil - like any other commercial company - make their living by selling their products. How long do you think any business would last if it gave away all its products, complete and unrestricted, for free??
Have you ever come across any free evaluation version of any commercial product that doesn't come with some kind of restrictions?
The specific restrictions in Keil's free downloads are clearly stated here: http://www.keil.com/demo/limits.asp
If this is a bona fide Evaluation - with a genuine view to purchase - you should speak directly to Keil or your local distributor to see if a suitable arrangement can be made...

Thanks Walter, thats unfortunate but at least now I know. Thanks for including the link to all the restrictions.

Hi Andy,
you seem to have got a little irate over a simple straight forward question !
No need for that reaction really.
I knew there were restrictions of course, including limited code, which is fine, just was not expecting so many restrictions.
Now I know better. You have a good day Andy
... based on an eval is (regardless of brand) impossible.
last I was tasked with evaluation, all brands save one loaned us full versions. This, of course, only works if 'you' are a "well known and respected company" and plan to buy 10 seats.
Erik
"and plan to buy 10 seats"
Not necessarily.
A sale of 1 seat is better than no sale at all!
