How to generate 6 different PWM Signals on xc161

Hi all,

I've read a lot about PWM generation on the xc161 with the Capture/Compare Units. To generate 1 PWM Signal with a definied periode and duty cycle are descriped in detail.

Now I must generate 6 different PWM signal with different periode and duty cycle on the xc161. I have no idea how I can do this. Because there are only 2 Timers for the Capture/Compare units (T0/T7; T1/T8).

Thanks for any help

Rainer

  • You could also consider using the GPT1/2 peripheral as this also provides the ability to generate two more PWM's on T3OUT and T6OUT pins. As for the CAPCOM's there are different modes that can be used to achieve more than two independent (period/duty cycle) PWMs on CAPCOM. It is also highly dependent on if you need 0 to 100 percent duty cycle control and when the update occurs as you are now dependent on software (interrupt) latencies.

Not sure what kind of answer you are looking for?
