I HAVE THIS GREAT IDEA. BUT IS IT POSSIBLE?. A ADVANCED HANDHELD CALCULATOR USING A 8051. CAN IT DO ALL THE FUNCTIONS?. LIKE SIN COS TAN AND STUFF. I WANT TO DO IT. IF U R INTERESTED IN JOINING ME IN THIS UNIQUE PROJECT LET ME KNOW. <pre/>
1 - Of course it is possible 2 - It is not a unique idea 3 - Casio already do a calculator with a SuperH CPU 4 - TI already do a calculator with a 68000 CPU 5 - HP already do a calculator with an ARM CPU 6 - I don't think it is a great idea
But ... If you want to do it as an educational project, I should not be too difficult and I wish you luck.
I think it is a great idea. You will learn a ton by doing it.
Do you have the full license of the compiler? To use trigonometric functions you would need floating point emulation. That is way too much work to write on your own.
