Got an interesting one here:
Have been working without issue in uV4 for a day. Re-open the same project the following morning and continued code changes. This compiled correctly, however, when I clicked the load button everything froze. You can minimise and maximise it, but that's all.
In task manager there are two instances of uV4 shown, both not responding. When I attempt to close the application I get the usual "are you sure" messages, but nothing happens. In Task Manager Processes, a single instance of uV4 is shown with no CPU usage, but even "End Process" or "End Process Tree" have no effect.
I'm going to have to reboot the computer...
I'm working on XP pro 2002 SP2, with uV3 v3.70 and uV4 b1.
I had the same sort of problem with VISTA and compiling for C166 and C51. I am now using beta 3 and it appears to be a lot better. I have been using it nearly 2 days and everything is perfect until now. It certainly appears to be a lot more stable than the first beta and even uVision3.
The extra functionality is a bonus as well.
Sorry.. Typo.. this was on uV4 b3.1...
Complete reboot has worked although it did take a fair while to shut down.
Mhhh... I hope I do not get that sort of thing.
I rather like the latest beta because at last I seem to have something stable to work with under VISTA.
Perhaps the problem is specific to XP which is very unusual. Most of the time it is just the other way around.
Ah well, we will see what develops.
> when I clicked the load button everything froze. Did you try to unplug the ULINK? uVision should shutdown debugging / Flash download then and go back to edit mode.
BR, /th.
Didn't try that... but if it happens again I cartainly will. Did check the Ulink lights though and it appeared not to be running.. no flashing lights, just a steady USB light.
