Could not stop ARM devices

I have two same target boards with LPC2366 mcu,
one of them has problem when i try to download
hex file to flash via ulink. a pop-up window shows

Could not stop ARM device!
please check the JTAG cable

Anybody has a idea for it?

  • Is this your target board or a purchased eval board?
    The following comments assume that you have one of the 'standard' purchased eval boards.
    Have you checked the jumper settings between the two boards? I do not have the LPC2366 but I have the LPC2378 eval board from Keil. It has two jumpers that allow FlashMagic programming through the Com0 port but this interfers with the JTAG. If you have have any I/O plugged into the Com0 port and the ISP and RST jumpers installed, the JTAG fails as you described.

    Also, you may have overwritten part of the bootloader factory installed on the chip. Read the FlashMagic documentation on how to restore the bootloader.
