Thanks for the previous help. I was trying out a program to make LED on and off (something like blink). So please let me know method or a way to find the delay time as trying out different combinations is not working out for me. If any formula or referance material available that would be great.

Have you checked out all examples and the data sheet information about how to use timers? They represent the optimum way to generate long delays (and a blinking led requires long delays in the lifetime of a processor).
Addendum: Unless the LED is used in a fibre-optic or laser communications link or similar.
