I am using the 2K Eval version to develop code for the Analog Devices ADuC816. The quick start kit comes from Acctron which includes a small board called Spear . This board plugs into the serial port on the PC and the EA/ pin on the processor to access the on-chip debug features. I have used this feature using the Accutron software and found it works extremly well. I can download, run, break point, examine/modify memory, etc, using no additional support software on the target. I am interested in going with the Keil software since it is much better than what was supplied with Accutron, but I want to use the SPEAR with uVision2. This is supposed to be possible to do, but I have not found instructions on how to set it up from either vendor. Does anyone know how to configure the Kiel IDE to use the Spear tool?
"This is supposed to be possible to do" What makes you think that? Normally, connecting to a 3rd-party debug interface needs a DLL supplied by that 3rd-party...
You are correct. The 3rd party DOES supply the DLL. I downloaded and installed it. I found a reference to in the the Kiel .ini file. I also found the Spear option in the Emulator configuration, which I selected. It gives me a message that the DLL cannot be loaded. Which DLL? Where do I go from here?
Which error do you get exactly? Reinhard
