Using old uVision 3 for feasability test

Hi,

Our company has an old copy of Keil 8051 tools (PN PK166) including uVision 3 which as far as I can tell has never been used.

I'd like to use this to do a feasibility test of porting some very old code to a new compiler, without having to pay for the latest. If it works, I'll get our company to upgrade us to whatever is current. The code is huge (ROM paging is used).

My question is this: is uVision 3 suitable for use on a modern Windows 7 machine? If I get my project ported, is there a reasonable way to migrate the project to whatever the current version is?

Thanks for any suggestions,
Lloyd
