Admin: Invalid spam protection

The spam protection seems to be off - always complaining about the word 'ell' + 'oh' + 'vee' + 'eee' - despite not being part of the post... And my web browser can't find it in the text control either.

Please don't try to be too clever - you would solve 99.9% of the spam issues if you instead did what you should have done 10 years ago and added real accounts. Any other solution will only hurt the visitors. There really is no good solution that can compare with real accounts where the user activates their account by visiting a magic link received in their mail. And Keil really is not interested in any customer who doesn't have access to an email account.

  • And my web browser can't find it in the text control either.

That's because it's also checking for the word in strange spellings, including one word ending on an ell, then the next beging with "ove". I found that out when I could write one has "power over" a thing, or "control of" it, but not use the idiom involving "control" and "over".

  • I know - it's just that Keil must realize that the "better" they are at finding creative rewrites of forbidden words, the better they are also at blocking legitime posts.

And they do not give back any information about the specific character combination that they consider matching their spam filter.

A forum system shouldn't behave like black magic to the users. Previously it was 'error 500' they sent out when they arbitrarily decided a post contained spam. Now they mention a word - but a word the user may end up not being able to find. I did scan for 'lo' and 've' and did try these words in a separate tab without getting a hit. Then I just got tired and dropped the post.
