.. it was stated that the CAPTCHA for replies was a temporary measure.
this is the ONLY forum I know of that requires this for a response and is a major irritnt
I see, thanks for the link. However, confirmed by Keil's Management, I am not informed about a removal of the CAPTCHA.
Keil's management should know that the Captcha is a work-around for the Keil forum being just about the only forum that doesn't have user accounts.
It talks badly about the company to ignore the primary issue and instead glue on work-arounds that affects the usability.
The normal logic is to have a Captcha - together with a validated email - when creating an account. Not when making individual posts.
But this is also just about the only forum where random people can impersonate other people since you on every new post gets the option to enter an arbitrary user name. This alone have caused quite a lot of significant badwill. Not to mention people who fail to post because the spam word filter regularly makes bad matches in ways that the poster will need significant work to figure out where the match was.
not just me.
Being active in this forum, I was interviewed by some ARM people in England about other things and when I mentioned this they replied WHAT!!
In a changing world, there is still something constant.
Very bad for usability, not so bad for emotion.
