i am using STM32f205vg board for my work.when i try to debug the code with the board connected it shows the message NO ST-LINNK DETECTED. in the debug setting i have selected St-link debugger and also i have installed the driver from the keilV5 directory. so why is this error comming. Can any one shed some light on the role of this Stlink debugger?. Is the choice of debugger depending on the hardware we use ?. or is just a software that ports the neccessary files into the board irrespective of the hardware we use?. THANKS in advance Sarath
Your post is a rather laboured read, so what BOARD do you have, you mention a CHIP. But it's not clear you have a JTAG/SWD pod at all, or that you have connected anything up correctly.
The ST-LINK is an external JTAG/SWD debug pod, you could equally use a Keil ULink or Segger JLink
