CAN I HAVE SOME EXAMPLE FOR SENDING A STRING, INT , LONG , TO PC BY SERIAL PORT?

i want to send text to serial port and then using som media to transmit to anothe laptop
and receive this messeg again,so i need to write aprogram in c languge to do that
please help me if you can
