HI.
i got a genuine 8051 (80c320) and i think somethings busted in it. i is good with a soldering iron and think i must fix it.
any manual , or whatever you can dig on this would be helpfull, I tried googling on it but after a while filter string went out of range (you know, -'<buying, seling , revievs, etc>'), and still google thinks i want to go on online shop to buy a LGA 775 Motherboard, on about first 150 pages.
Are you kidding us? Just buy and solder a new one, joker.
You mean something within the chip itself?
"i is good with a soldering iron"
Even if you did have a fine enough iron, and suffient dexterity, internal chip faults can't be repaired with solder!!
3 of the the the legs are bent. i dont want to ruin it.
I presume this must be for a school/hobby project?
For a commercial project, just buy a new chip!
"3 of the the the legs are bent"
So straighten them carefully, and then solder it into a board so they can't get bent any more...
What do you mean by, "genuine"?
Usually, "genuine 8051" would be taken to mean one of the original chips manufactured by Intel.
The 80c320 is not, in that sense, a "genuine" 8051 - it is a derivative of the original Intel family.
The 80c320 was manufactured by Dallas Semiconductor - now Maxim Integrated. You can find details on their website: www.maximintegrated.com/
Note that the full part number is DS80c320.
This page is now grossly outdated, but gives you some historical background on the Difference Between 8051 & 80C320:
www.prevailing-technology.com/.../What Is the Difference Between an 8051, 8052, 8031, 8032, 80C320, and an E5.htm
Note that the bent pins may be the least of its problems!
They may be just the external, visible damage.
If it's been so carelessly handled that the legs are bent, who knows what other abuse it may have suffered...?
In particular, Static (ESD) damage is not going to be externally visible.
In other words, it may already be ruined - even if you do successfully straighten the pins.
found document on bing. used a wiring pen. works nicely again.
