Hi,i recently downloaded keil uvision4 for creating the hex file for my project.I used it once to make a sample hex file and a project. After closing the application i deleted the files that i had sample files i had created.Following this my keil shoftware refused to start and always showed an error that said abc.obj not found.i tried renaming another obj file abc but it didn't work.I deleted all files i had created but it still doesn't work.it doesn't give an error message now but crashes in the beginning itself.
PLEASE HELP!
If you delete files you don't know the meaning of, or rename files to try to cheat and claim them to contain something they don't, then you are on a good way to get stuck.
Have you considered starting by reinstalling the tools, since the crash would indicate that you haven't just deleted files relating to your project but also files related to the Keil tools?
And no - I don't think the tools failed to start claiming that abc.obj didn't exist. If the file was so important that the tools couldn't start, then the file name was probably something else - what name? What was the exact error message?
i really don't remember what the file name was but it could have been .obj or .uvobj.will ihave to reinstall keil?
it could have been .obj or .uvobj.will ihave to reinstall keil? YES

New UV4 release seems to dislike previous installations. I choosed "keep previous settings"" during install. After install, it crashed every time - I could not start it at all. Rre-installing it as a clean install solved the problem.
