Hey guys, Well this should be a pretty easy question to answer but what device do I need to buy in order to download my program from Keil to my 8051 chip
Thanks John
Well this should be a pretty easy question to answer
Actually it isn't. I could say "get a decent universal programming device like the GALEP", but I'm pretty sure that's not the answer you're looking for.
But here's a easy question for you: do you think that it might be necessary to know which of the couple hundred possible choices you call "my 8051 chip", in order to answer your question?
Oops sorry, haven't fully decided on the chip, building a heart rate sensor, from circuit designs I've seen online the AT89S52 chip seems common among them so probably that. Its been years since I've done any sort of programming/building,I think what I used before was a Keil Development board, put the chip into it,code downloaded via the serial port.
haven't fully decided on the chip use a chip with JTAG (e.g. SILabs) or ISP (e.g. some NXP)
Isn't the AT89S52 an ISP chip though?
Might it just be easier to get something like this where I can put my chip on the board and burn the code via usb?
What does its datasheet tell you?
What does the manufacturer's website tell you?
"Might it just be easier to get something like this..."
Something like what?
"...where I can put my chip on the board and burn the code via usb?
Yes, that is what ISP gives you!
