Hi all
Is it possible to use a touch screen attached to a 8051/2 based board ?
Elico
Yes, most definitely yes.
Not often there's a question here which I can answer :)
Thanks Elico
no it is not if you use the C251 toolset
Erik
That depends on what, exactly, you mean by "use" - and what type of "touchscreen" it is...
use is connect in away that the board will respnd to touches on the touch screen any type , my question is general .
Sob, sob. You burst my bubble.
But there are many different types of touchscreen. Their requirements vary and, therefore, whether an 8051 can meet them depends upon what they are!
You need to study the datasheet(s) for the screen(s) you are considering, and think about whether an 8051 can meet the requirements stated therein...

Well, more normally, it's not so much the touchscreen that is the concern (except maybe the physical size and technology choice, like resistive or capacitive). Far more important is the circuitry it attaches to and the interface that circuitry provides for connection to the processor.
