Hi,
We are using DS89C450 microcontroller for designing a control card that is used to display messages on LED panel.
This microcontroller performs 2 tasks: 1- Creating a frame of data (frame size = 448 bytes) and sending the bits to the LED panel via specified pins.
2- When receiving new data from the serial port, the microcontroller writes these data onto E2PROM, then read the data and repeat step 1 as long as no new data received.
The problem is that:
Suddenly, the microcontroller displays rubbish and did not respond to the received serial data (although we recognized the serial data by an oscilloscope). In addition to, in some cases rubbish data is to found written onto the E2PROM without sending new data!. This problem is not solved when resetting the microcontroller, it is only solved when re-programming it!
Thanks & Regards

This problem is not solved when resetting the microcontroller, it is only solved when re-programming it! RC reset? install a supervisor chip.
