RTC counter and Control with printf

Hi Everyone,

I wrote a CODE for RTC on UART1. I am able to get output. But I am looking for enhancement of it.

Output Which I am getting is :

****** HOUR::MIN::SEC********** 12::49::10

****** HOUR::MIN::SEC********** 12::49::11

****** HOUR::MIN::SEC********** 12::49::12

****** HOUR::MIN::SEC********** 12::49::13

I want it to be different

****** HOUR::MIN::SEC********** 12::49::10 is OK

But again if sec=11 then its should overwrite it ****** HOUR::MIN::SEC********** 12::49::11

But again if sec=12 then its should overwrite it ****** HOUR::MIN::SEC********** 12::49::12

This change or counter in second should not go into another line again update it.

It should replace the previous value and this should happen in Min,hour,year,days,months too.

Output should be in single line and should in single line itself on counter increment of values of sec,min,hour etc.

Hour::Min::Sec DOM/MON/YEAR (no Repeated Line, Update should take place at corresponding place)

Please suggest and Dont mind ,if some silly question is made here, as I am BEGINNER

Thanks and Regards

  • I think you have posted in wrong place.

    Battle of the trolls?

  • The printf format string should end with \r, not \n.

  • Why the ... do you create lots of new theads when you already have one ongoing thread about your RTC problems?

    When you get to a store that are using a queue system where you take a ticket - do you then take 5 tickets just to scare the next person with the huge number of steps he'll have to wait?

    Do you _really_ think people will give you a higher priority if you spam the forum with multiple repetitions of the same question?

    Remember that all your new threads doesn't even contain your source code, making it even harder for people to help you.

  • Dear Per Westermark,

    Why the ... do you create lots of new theads when you already have one ongoing thread about your RTC problems?

    I think before writing you have not seen that somebody else has posted some abdullah shawky posted some SPI topic in of my topic .
    So I have created the new one. I am not here to scare people. Maybe you people have ample of knowledge. But Displaying success is not good enough to keep your success go on.

    When you get to a store that are using a queue system where you take a ticket - do you then take 5 tickets just to scare the next person with the huge number of steps he'll have to wait?

    I took 5 tickets , because in one ticket itself people posted something else. So one of my ticket got wasted. And Now dear instead of getting help. I am getting some comic comments "battle of troll "

    Do you _really_ think people will give you a higher priority if you spam the forum with multiple repetitions of the same question?

    So You are not the league. So do care about you , not what fear world has. Forum people are smart enough to understand what really is the priority.

    Remember that all your new threads doesn't even contain your source code, making it even harder for people to help you.

    In one of my post for putting source code . There were many who have problem. If this was by you at first , I hope we could have worked with problem. Instead of word.

    Thanks

    NOTE : Before making Comment read the Offered Document properly.

  • Dear Dan Henry,

    The printf format string should end with \r, not \n.

    Your Information was really helpfull.

    Thanks

  • People who use Google to find this thread will most probably not see the other threads.

    So creating multiple threads means that most people will have to try to help based on a subset of information.

    Next thing - if someone posts something "strange" in a thread: Do you then let them keep the thread and start a new? That is not a well-working solution to a problem.

    Both when programming and when posting to a web forum, a good goal is "locality of reference". Try to keep all information well grouped together so a reader will be able to quickly get up-to-speed on what have been covered and what haven't.
