I have interface lcd with MC9s08GT16 (freescale hcs08 series).
i have connected a lcd to this microcontroller in 4 bit mode.
the connections are as below.
Pin1- GND Pin2- +5v Pin3- 10k pot Pin4- R/S i.e PD0 Pin5- r/w GND Pin6- EN i.e PD1 Pin7- GND Pin8- GND Pin9- GND Pin10- GND Pin11- PB3 Pin12- PB4 Pin13- PB5 Pin14- PB6 Pin15- +5v Pin16- GND
actual problem is with the lcd. Lcd is not displaying cursor or characters.
I adjusted the contrast by adjusting the 10k pot. but still it gives same problem.
Same program is already working with other hardware.
Please help me to solve this problem
So what is "other hardware"?
What is the difference between a "MC9s08GT16" and "other hardware"?
What have you done, to try to figure out what different requirements your MC9s08GT16 has? Have you compared the datasheets? How do you even know your MC9s08GT16 is in working order?

Actually I have already interface lcd to one hardware & it works.
Now for same circuit on different PCB it is not working.
So then it's easy. We don't know the difference between the two PCB. You should. Find out the difference and you'll know why the two units behave differently.
sorry to say, but i dont have that other pcb to compare with current pcb.
(freescale hcs08 series).
