hi, can any one give the idea to implement 12- bit counter in 8051 using assembly language programming.....i written a piece of code in which how to run a loop to increase the the count value that i am not able to write............
So there is a bit more work ahead of you then, until you can make your teacher happy.
It's all a question of ideas. What problems do you see with having a 12-bit counter? What problems do you see writing a loop? What problems do you see detecting an event? What problems do you see combining these concepts into a single program?
By the way - how can you have written a code that you are not able to write?
i written a piece of code in which how to run a loop to increase the the count value that i am not able to write
does this mean that if the value to increase was 8 bits, you had your code working? if so, show your code, if not, clarify
Erik
Before going into the specific details of 8051 assembler, you need to understand the basic principles of doing this is any assembler.
And the basic principles of doing this is any assembler are no different to the basic principles of doing this by hand with pencil and paper.
So perhaps you need to review the basics of adding-up multi-digit numbers...
