stepper motor

hello all,
i am interfacing stepper motor of 18.deg per step with lpc2148 . the motor has its own stepper driver card. i want to generate 1000 pulses in 1 revolution. time doesnt matter. i have equation of
reqd RPM x 200 / 60 = reqd pulses for RPM but i am not able to get the solution.
pls guide me how to go about it

    That's because you're looking at the wrong equations.

    Do you know anything at all about steppers? Do you know why a number like "18 deg. per step" would be part of their specification, and what that number means related to your stated goal?
