We are thinking to hook an IP camera to LPC1768.
*
Initially we wanted to use an USB web camera (UCV supported) but we believe that the currently supported USB stack will not be able to handle it without going through a lot of pain and also in terms of physical USB connection is not the most convenient for us.
We have also considered RS232 cameras but they don’t behave like real video cameras due to the low baud rate of their serial connection ( frame rate will be very low), so we have discarded also RS232 cameras.
We are exploring the possibility of using an IP camera instead.
We have made some research and we have found some IP cameras but the look too elaborated and complicated for our needs, they are real finished consumer products with a lot of feature that we don’t need, they look also very power hungry.
Does anyone can recommend a very simple IP camera that we could try to use?
We are looking for something as simple as a digital camera in top of a PCB that also provides a basic TCP server to interrogate using TCP connection, resolution of the camera is not important.
Can anyone recommend a provider for this camera that we are looking for?
Many thanks in advance.
Hi again John ,
It looks interesting, but I find odd that they use JPEG compression instead of MPEG4 like most of the IP cameras.
I suspect they transmit still pictures, but I will check.
