ARM11 based mainboard - Change software

Hello,

we are looking for a JTAG device to change the software on an ARM11 based device.
A photo is below which shows the mainboard of the device, it was part of a Thin Client.

The CPU is : " href= "www.arm.com/.../arm1176.php">www.arm.com/.../arm1176.php type of ARM which is ARM11.

Flash is: Samsung K9F1G08U0C-PCB0

Our main concern however is that the motherboard uses 13 pin jumper panel, this seems for us very rarely used.

We are planning to change the bootloader and operating system, by writing to the flash. We look forward for products that may meet the above requirements. Please suggest if there is any JTAG reader/writer that is compatible.

  • I doubt you'll find one with a compatible connector off the shelf but it should be trivial to make an adapter board if you have the schematics.

You're in the wrong forum, though. Keil doesn't support any ARM 11 targets. I've used ARM RealView, GreenHills and WindRiver probes to debug ARM11, any of those should work. If you want to go with something more affordable you can use any OpenOCD debugger, there are many low cost options like this one: www.olimex.com/.../arm-usb-ocd.html
