I am using Keil and Silicon Labs USB debugger for evaluating a board that consists of c8051F381. I am using Windows7 OS. Whenever I try to debug the board there is an error and the Keil IDE stopped working. The software works fine in simulation mode. Also there is no error in other similar devices like c8051f341. Kindly resolve this issue. Thanks Amol
Kindly consider contacting Keil support, since this is an end-user forum, i.e. you are sending your help request to other users just like you.
As Per says, this forum is not the route to contact Keil support - see the first bullet point here: http://www.keil.com/forum/
www.catb.org/.../smart-questions.html
But, before you contact them, you should consider revising your query to give them some better information to go on:
You titled your post, "Simulator not working", but your text contradicts this - saying, "works fine in simulation mode" !!
So which is it?
"there is an error"
They will need to know what error, exactly, there was.
"the Keil IDE stopped working"
You need to explain that more clearly - in what way(s), exactly, did it "stop working"?
Thanks Neil, I was coming back on this form after a long time so wrote the query in a hurry. Actually this is very serious problem with the debugger. There is an unresoved error in Keil IDE. You see Keil also commits mistakes. I have written to Keil Tech and hope they reply soon.
You may be right, but see: www.catb.org/.../smart-questions.html
The software works fine in simulation mode
contradicts your title
thus I guess you refer to JTAG debugging
it is a known fact that Keil and SILabs frequently are out of synch.
the solution is simple
use Keil for development use SILabs for debugging
Erik
This is a good thing to do develop in Keil and Debug in SiLabs IDE. Can you tell me how to generate or locate OMF-51 FILES. The SiLabs needs this file for source level debugging. AMol
Unless you specifically request something else, OMF51 is what the C51 tools produce!
