I have a MCBSTM32 board with an ULINK-ME JTAG. Previously I used an evaluation version of MDK/µVision 4.01 and everything worked well. I installed the latest version (4.12), and when i tried download the code to the µC, µVision asked for firmware update. I clicked "yes", and after a few seconds µVision showed message "firmware update failed". I tried this several times after reconnecting the JTAG, but it's always fails. Is it possible to use the µVision 4.12 with my JTAG? Or where can i download the 4.01 version of µVision?
same problem with my Ulink-Me.
I installed the software the first time and the 4.12 uVision asked me to update the Ulink-Me. I clicked on "Yes" and he aborted with a firmware update failure.
Since this i get all the time i want to debug / programm "SWD Communication Failure".
I got now a replacement, but here the same problem: "SWD Communication Failure".
On a second PC i have no problems with the new Ulink-Me. Seems to be the firmware update crashed something in my operating system, too!
By the way, i posted my problem in a german forum, too: www.mikrocontroller.net/.../184466
Maybe the USB stack or descriptors in the upgraded firmware has some bugs making it incompatible with your OS. So the firmware update doesn't fail - it just makes the ULINK-ME incompatible with your computer.
I resolved my problem. Before i write it down here i want to here the answer from Keil which i am still waiting for...
We are very curious - please tell us what you did!
OK, Keil support is still not answering. But i want to share my problem: Looks like my cable had a loose and shortcutted contact at my JTAG / SW connector. Before firmware flashing this was no problem. During the update this caused to a firmware update crash.
With the new replacment ULink-ME, this caused to an unstable connection.
So the problem is the small grey cable between target an ULink-Me. Seems to be very bugy.
