Hello,
When I start up a circuit board with LPC2468 and SD connector (SD interface in 4-bit mode). without SD card present there is no problem. When I then insert a certain SD Card (2GB, SD Standard, manufacturer : Transcend), the controller will reset and restart again. After restarting the SD Card is functioning correctly. If a use a SD Card (128MB, SD Standard) from an other manufacturer (PQI) I don't have that problem.
What could be the cause of this problem ?
Kind regards.
There is a bug in your software that causes it to crash!
You need to do some debugging: first, to find out where, exactly, it is crashing; and then you can start looking into why it is crashing!
When debugging, it is very important to pay very close attention to all details.
You have tried 2 cards that differ in both size and supplier - so you really don't know yet whether it's the size or the supplier that matters!

Thank you for your support. When I disable all SD Card functions, the problem still occurs. It seems to be a hardware problem.
Kind regards,
"It seems to be a hardware problem"
What makes you say that? Again, don't jump to conclusions!
... would be a) a power glitch when the SD card is inserted b) noise generated when the SD card is inserted get out the scope and find out
Erik
a) a power glitch when the SD card is inserted b) noise generated when the SD card is inserted
Although rather unlikely that this would be affected by different brands and/or sizes of card?
"get out the scope and find out"
Definitely.
Current consumption during power up can make a difference, or initial load on processor pins.
Yes, that could happen - and, I guess, a bigger card might have a higher startup peak...
As Erik said, a 'scope would show for sure...
Seems to be a power consumption problem when starting up the Card. After some hardware adjustments the problem is solved.
Thank you all for your suggestions/remarks.
And thank you for reporting-back with your conclusion.
