reference: for a design with an ARM7 NXP LPC2468 processor, an AmiPro AM-800480STMQW-TW0H tft-lcd display with a 8080 parallel direct interface, all developed in C with Kiel microVision4 + RTOS.
my company is looking at options to populate a 7" tft-lcd display with some static text, some buttons and a real time running graph or two. we might migrate to a larger lcd display with a lvds interface but for now the 7" direct interface is where we are at.
recommend: a GUI software package compatible with the current design above. we are considering the Segger/emWin or BlueWater/Prism or build our own design. note; Prism is formally the Peg gui product bought out by FreeScale.
We do not use an RTOS but we are very content with emWin. We use 128x64-displays. To be shure if emWin will meet all your requirements contact Segger directly. The support is very cooprerative and competent.
some static text, some buttons and a real time running graph or two
This should be easy enough to build from the ground up.
About OpenSource solution : I did use fltk on ARM architecture and LCD display. You may give a look to foxtoolkit also. I also mette some solution based on SDL. There is also Qt Embbeded. Or if you really have to implement simple widgets you may implement them by your own. emWin seems to be very interesting.
Consider your memory footprint requirement, and time/money resources. Best regards, Selso.
