Hi
My Company recently purchased the HiTex Tanto 2 emulator. The device comes with a setup CD but this is only to setup its own IDE for the device. Is there any way I can add one of the DLL's install for the device in Keil to run as third party driver. I notice in the project options in Keil under the Debug Tab we can do this but Hitex has no documentation on this that I've seen. It's better to keep the Project running under 1 IDE to keep things simple.
Thanx in advance
Dear Sir You published your request in the C251 section, so that Tanto2 Emulator is for 80251 based controllers? If so, it comes with its own user interface software. There is no documentation about how to use it directly within the micro-vision IDE, because this is not possible. For further questions ask Hitex or the company making the controllers that are to be used with that emulator. Best regards J. Christoph

It is simpler to take the freeway, but sometimes faster to take smaller roads.
are you incapable of running the emulator without it being in the IDE.
I run all emulation separately because I have experienced constant 'synchronization' problems between Keil and other manufacturers. It seems that "the other" catches up with Keils latest change the day after Keil has made another change.
NOTE: this is NOT a complaint, just a statement of facts. The '51 market is too small for providers to have resources on the ready at all times.

And, before purchasing, did they not think to discuss with Hitex how it would integrate with their Keil tools?
Note that Hitex is a Keil distributor - so they really should be able to answer this question for you!
"Hitex Development Tools enjoys a leading position in development, manufacturing and marketing of innovative software analysis and test tools for embedded systems. Since the eigthties, Hitex has been working closely with Keil providing development environments for professional developers." (my emphasis)
"Hitex also offers expert services throughout the complete development cycle. Hitex helps to select the appropriate controllers and tools..."

Hold them to their word!
According to the Hitex website, it is a "Rapid FPGA Prototyping Platform"
Universal OEM Product Platform"
" href= "http://www.hitex.co.uk/fileadmin/pdf/products/hardware_tools/tanto2-rapid-fpga-prototyping-platform.pdf"> www.hitex.co.uk/.../tanto2-rapid-fpga-prototyping-platform.pdf
I don't see any mention of MCS251 anywhere...
The OP : "the HiTex Tanto 2 emulator"
I meant, who said it to the OP?
Infineon has comfirmed it that the Tanto 2 with the attached Infineon Generic Emulator Tool is not supported in KEIL... This makes life more difficult as the HiTOP IDE IS NOT a great IDE to work with :(
did it not occur to you to check this before purchasing the "emulator"?!
It was purchased before i had any say in the matter. Well that is what happens when you have business people handling the job of an engineer!!! they think they know better and so they make all the "right" choices since they handle the money... the engineer must just make it work!
