Hi, I just bought an EPM900 and am trying to use it on my Vista64 system. I already have C51 and uVision4 installed.
When I connect the EPM Vista tries to install drivers and fails. Are these not part of the Keil tools already installed?
I try to install board drivers from the distribution CD but Vista64 won't handle them.
uVision doesn't seem to see the EPM900, there is no Serial No. notification.
There is no mention of installation or drivers in any of the guides.
Also there is no explanation of what the LPC936 and 938 are for except that I should fit them according to the device I want to work with. I bought the EPM for the LPC901, 915/6, and 923. Am I missing something?
Hi, Thanks for the feedback. I did try the administrator option but it didn't help.
I am running the 64 bit version of the CA51 toolset and assumed that it would pick up the hardware without trouble. Nothing I tried would help.
Since I posted I have borrowed a laptop with 32 bit Vista Home Premium and CA51 V9.00 + uVision 4. As soon as I plugged in the EPM900 Windows found the correct drivers and I think we are up and running. Why not Vista64? I have no idea.
I will have to either wait for an upgrade from Keil, buy/borrow another PC for this development or dual boot my 64 bit desk top.
I have a support query out too but don't expect a reply until after the holidays, I will post anything else useful that I learn.
A word of warning for anyone, The docs for the EPM900 are very slender and there are lot of unanswered questions yet. There is no guide for mapping the header connections to a range of devices. I need to develop in circuit but not with a tssop adaptor, its just not appropriate for the job. I have laid down ICP headers on the PCB but it looks as though I will need a mixture of research, guesswork and luck to make a suitable cable which I can program/emulate with.
Cheers, happy holidays

Hi, I have found some answers here regarding device wiring and programming; www.nxp.com/.../AN10258.pdf
Would still like to find some decent docs that cover the bond-out chips:- LPC9351, 936 and 938.
