If you did spent some _own_ time, you would have noticed that even if the car manufacturers are working on standardizing much CAN communication, you still need to know details about the car - manufacturer, production year, ...
You have to display on LCD? Have to as in "the teacher requires you to" or have to as in "your company are going to sell such a product"? In which way do you feel that your project is of a type that it would be meaningful for people to donate own time for free?
